Children of the Corn V

"Now they have a chance to serve a higher order, to worship he

               who walks behind the rows...""

The fifth installment begins with a small child, Ezeheil, witnessing a fire in the corn field, and upon inspection being possessed by something that rises from the ashes.....and no, it isn't long before he kills his first victims...adults. Has he who walks behind the rows risen once more???

Meanwhile a group of six young people make their way towards Gatlin, with Greg, Tyrus, Alison and Kir in one car, and their friends Laszlo and Charlotte in the other. The latter of the two vehicles comes to a halt just outside Gatlin, and it isn't long before the children of the corn snare two more victims, leaving the other four wandering into town in search of their friends. Whilst they get no joy in town, they do learn that the nearby fields are controlled by a religious cult made up of a bunch of adopted kids...and that they worship 'he who walks behind the rows.' However it would seem that Alison has another agenda, she left her younger brother during childhood and he, Jacob, is part of the cult – and she must speak to him.

As the outsiders nose around and uncover the bodies of their friends, the local Sheriff puts it down to an accident and wants the kids out of his town..but they have other ideas and make their way up to the religious cult head quarters. Alison meets the guy who apparently leads this religious sect, although the role of Ezeheil would suggest otherwise...who explains that the children have a chance to serve a higher order. Alison gets to meet her brother, on the eve of his eighteenth birthday, and learns that he must return to the earth (die). Alison wants to help her brother, and even he has second thoughts about dying...but the children of the corn have other ideas and people again start dying......
