This is a section devoted to my interest in sci-fi, and formed primarily through the mediums of film and radio. We all know that star wars is the classic cult sci fi saga, and we have George Lucas to thank for that.....

However even before he came along sci-fi was in full swing on the radio, and I have been able to listen to a host of sci fi programmes. My first taste of sci fi on radio was a show titled 'X Minus One,' and the episode was called 'The Martian Embassy.' The story focused on inhabitants from two other planets (Venus and Mars) walking among the inhabitants of earth and planning an invasion of the planet....and whilst one human became aware of the planned invasion no-one would listen to him - they thought he was mad!!i Just that one taster began my ongoing interest in sci fi, and after watching my first star wars film (Episode IV - a new hope) there was no turning back.

Of course in modern day society we are now overwhelmed by science fiction, primarily in the form of hollywood blockbusters - yet for me none have rivalled the films I have included in this section - no matter how many billions of dollars have been spent and which 'A list' celebs are appearing. For me this is summed up by the War of the Worlds film - the original was fantastic, a classic...yet in 2006 Cruise etal starred in a remake - awfull!!

I will endeavour to add further film/radio programmes in the near future....but for now I start with what I feel to be the backbone of my sci-fi...
