LIFE ON MARS - SERIES I EPISODE 3

Don't move, you're surrounded by armed bastards!

Sam and the team are called to a murder at a local textile mill, which transpires to be the location of his bachelor pad in 2006. Hunt believes that the culprit is an outspoken union representative (Ted Bannister), yet still decides to haul in all of the factory workers for questioning. Sam on the other hand believes that there is more to this than Gene's Policing instinct, and sets out to prove other wise. This results in Gene and Sam having a tenner bet - what is more sucessful Hunt's instincts or Tyler's knowledge of forensics.

In between Tyler's flashbacks of his flat and his investigating of the murder of the victim he comes to the conclusion that Ted Bannister is innocent, despite Bannisters claim that he is guilty of the murder. It seems that Bannister is desperate for the factory to be re-opened so that it can survive - even oif that means him spending a lengthy period of time in prison. However Sam comes to his rescue when he returns to the crime scene and notes that one of the belt straps on the machoine had been replaced recently - this hold the key to the identity of the real killer.....
