This section seeks to highlight the lives and subsequent works of the people I feel have not only left a lasting footprint within the human race, but whom I would like to feel that I have drawn some inspiration for myself over the years....my Raison D'etre.

Of course during my schooling I was introduced to the work of Newton, and through college education the Orwellian, Darwinian and Marxist theories/works reared their heads. Michael Foucault emerged for me during my university experiences, as did the works of Albert Einstein.  Stephen Hawking appealed to me following my university years, and certainly inspired me to pursue further learning within the field of physics. Tolkein has appeared to me in both childhood, through books, and perhaps more recently in adulthood through the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy.

The aim here is perhaps to offer an overview of the work these individuals have offered us....from the theories of Einstein and Darwin through to the magical world inspired through the literary abilities of Tolkein. These works captured the imagination and inspire.....

All of course are brilliant human beings - geniuses who dedicated most of their lives to a quest for knowledge and understanding. Whilst it is true that there are many aspects of the human race that instill feelings of shame, anger, frustration, horror (the list of negatives are endless) there are those who, on occasion, restore a little faith in humanity.....
