Having completed my college education
I decided that I would attend University and undertake a Criminology
degree. Whilst I was unsure at this time as to what I wanted
to do in terms of a career, I felt that it was a subject which would
not only continue to interest me, but furthermore it would challenge
and ultimately inform the rest of my career. The catalyst for choosing
this path can be attributed to two experiences. The first was my
completion of A level Sociology and the impact of my lecturer, who
felt that I would certainly find a Criminology degree interesting.
It was initially this course that stimulated my curiosity about
crime on a theoretical level. The second experience was perhaps
a little more to do with the practical side in that on two separate
occasions I was arrested. The second of these arrests resulted in
my appearance before the local magistrates (for which I subsequently
received a 6 month conditional discharge). At the time I was of
course ashamed and disappointed with my actions, yet now I feel that such experiences are invaluable, particularly in terms
of empathising with individuals connected with my line of work.
This section provides a variety
of work I undertook throughout my degree course. Enjoy!!
