Childhood Memories - G'parents Home

This room would have been the kitchen - I can still remember the dirty pots that would litter the sideboard and the cups on the window sill containing false teeth! The cooker would have been in the far left corner of the room and near left they had a horrible pull down sideboard (I think it was a light green wash one) that would house some of the food.

Now in terms of hygiene my grandparents were not the greatest - yet my would have been that if the food was cooked or in a self contained packet/bottle it would have bene safe. My younger cousin on the other hand never used to complain.

Over riding memory - the smell of yorkshire puddings and cans of spam on the sideboard. There was also a pantry immediately behind the photographer, and the back door would have been to the right.

The front room. I spent many days and evenings sat in front of that coal fire. The television was in the far right corner of the room and a sideboard was placed uner the front room window. The original wallpaper still remains after all of the years that have passed....

Main memories of this room. That would be watching Saturday evening televsion (A-Team), playing on the Super Nintendo (Mario Bros. 3) and in playing army games with my younger cousin.
